Changing a Provider Username
When the need arises to change the username of a provider you can use the change username functionality in the provider settings.
Making a junior or VT provider a permanent provider at your practice requires a new user for that staff member. This is made simple via this functionality by creating a new user profile with all the settings and appointments seamlessly transferred.
Updating the username of a provider
Ensure all users are logged out of EXACT before proceeding with this functionality.
- Go to file - providers - view providers.
- Select a provider.
- Click the option to change the username.
- This menu will look different depending on your region.
- Please read all information presented on screen to ensure you are happy with the steps that will be actioned.
- Complete the fields as required, including the new username and name (if changed).
- Entering any regional-specific information.
- Click OK to proceed.
Tips and Tricks
- The original provider username will be made inactive but will still exist, this is for historical treatment that contains the original username.
- EXACT V24.97 introduced this functionality.
- From EXACT V24.106: Personal/performer numbers and prior approval tier limits are copied to the new username.
- From EXACT V24.109: If the original username was assigned to a room, the new username will be assigned to the room.

Would you still have to run 2 Allocated Payment Reports for both the old and new name to ensure commissions paid out are correct?
Hi Jess Fauchelle, as with any username change where there may be a crossover it would be advisable to run the report for both usernames, you can select them both on the same report by using the Multiple providers option.
