Merged the Wrong Patients
If for any reason you have merged the wrong two patients, there are steps you can take to reverse the merging process.
Undoing a patient merge
You must have performed a backup prior to the patient merge to complete these steps.
- Open two versions of EXACT, one with backup data and the other your live data.
- Locate the patients on both versions.
- On your backup data:
- Load the original patient.
- On your current data:
- Create a new patient.
- Add the details for the patient using the details from the backup data.
- On the recalls tab of the merged patient:
- Note which appointments the patient had and which ones the merged patient should have.
- On the new patient file, add the relevant appointments on the appointment book, adding the correct appointments with the relevant provider times and dates.
- Repeat this process for the patient's charting.
- Repeat this for the other patient.
Once completed, you will have two new patient files, one for each person.
You can then make the original merged patient inactive to save any further confusion.
