Patient Portal patient check-in / kiosk
With the Kiosk enabled, patients can check themselves in when they arrive at the practice by scanning their QR code using an in-practice tablet.

To enable this function, a tablet is required for patient use in the reception area of your practice.
Please Note: Family appointments are not supported by Kiosk check-in's. Any family appointments must be checked-in manually. |
Tablet Requirements
- iPad using iOS 11+ operating Safari
- Android using version 4+ operating Chrome
Enabling Self Check-in on a Tablet
Enter the correct URL for your region, as listed below to access the kiosk in your practice

A kiosk check-in screen will be displayed on your tablet.
Whan a patient checks in, EXACT will check if there are any outstanding forms on the portal, if there are, the icon below will be displayed on their appointment.
If the patient has completed all of their forms, the normal stickman icon will display.
Check-in with Name & Date of Birth
Patients are able to check in using their their name and date of birth.
To enable this, the tablet needs to be registered with your practice using the steps below,
- Navigate to Configure - Patient Experience.
- Select Kiosk Management.
- To setup your tablet you can either;
- Scan the QR code displayed on your screen, using the camera on your tablet.
- or enter the correct URL for your region, listed below.

- Select Check In, this will load the camera on your device.
- Use the camera screen that displays the QR code.
You will be directed to your new check-in kiosk page with the name and date of birth check-in option available.
- Selecting the Family Name and Birth Date option will display the following screen.
Managing your Kiosks
From the kiosk management screen you have the ability to name and remove kiosks/tablets by selecting Edit.
Please Note: If a patient has more than one appointment on a day it will only check them in for their first appointment. |
Patient Self Check In
The option for patients to check in prior to their appointment via Patient Portal has been removed on 5th August 2022.
From this point patients will be presented with the following screens if the Check in when you arrive option is selected.
