Unsupported Device Error (Optime, Scan Exam, PSPIX 1, ETC)
When using an device based around the IAM driver you can run into an issue if you have tried to connect to a device using the wrong driver, such as trying to connect to a PSPIX using the Optime driver for example. This can commonly happen when a customer wrong describes the device they have due to the extreme similarity in driver set up. Once the wrong SN or IP has been put in you are unable to get back into the driver set up to correct it, instead you have to remove the information from the registry.
Open REGEDIT and find "Computer\HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\WOW6432Node\Soredex\Dsd\Uid", once you have found this folder the 3 entries we are concerned with are "MAC", "ScIP" and "SNo", these values will contain the devices MAC address, IP address and serial number respectively. To fix the unsupported device error remove the data in each of these fields by double clicking on the name of the object you wish to change, you can then delete the information for each of these from the Data field. If the IP has been used to try and connect this will likely be the only one set, if you have tried to use the serial number you will likely also have to remove the MAC address. It is best to ensure all 3 are blank.
