NHS Scotland - 1st August 2024
This article outlines the changes in EXACT introduced on 1st August 2024.
Extensive Examination Service - A001
- This service is the only examination service to advance the last examination date as displayed on the recalls tab in a patient record.
- When charting an A001 service, an additional DMF tab is present on the NHS GP17 prompt after TC'ing a course of treatment. The DMF tab is populated with information from the patient's data and includes the following information:
- The number of teeth requiring restoration or extraction.
- The total number of teeth in a patient's mouth.
- The highest recorded BPE score.
Unscheduled Care - A003
- When charting an A003 service, an additional treatment reason tab is present on the NHS GP17 prompt after TC'ing a course of treatment.
- Using the drop-down menu, select the relevant reason for the current patient before completing the GP17.
Filling Services - C012 and C013
- When charting either a C012 or C013 service without meeting the NHS rules, a prompt will be displayed to alert you to make changes prior to completing treatment.
Tips and Tricks
- All new services and any replacement services can all be located in the service category 'SDR Reform'
- 04/09/2024 New flags have been added to EXACT to highlight NHS SDR rules, these will identify the following:
- C001 (Amalgam) a flag will be displayed if the service not allowed on an incisor or canine.
- C001 (GI) or C001 (Composite) a flag will be displayed if the service not allowed on an molar or pre-molar.
- These flags have been added based on the NHS SDR rules for tooth and material used, these flags will not prevent a claim from being transmitted, however, clinicians must use their judgement and follow SDR rules when submitting claims.
