eDental Continuation COT
If one dentist will be taking over a Course of Treatment part way through this is known as a continuation COT. The first dentist must TC the work up to the point they have complete the items and put a check in the notification on the NHS GP17 form that Treatment will be continued by another dentist on this same COT.
-
On the NHS GP17, the first dentist CB ticks Treatment will be continued by another dentist:
-
The second dentist DG ticks Treatment is being continued by another dentist on the Exemptions and Charges window then they will need to click into the COT being continued field then select the list button to choose the original COT number that CB would have used for the first COT
-
The second dentist can then chart and TC the work that they have completed and the two COTs will appear on the respective dentists' Payment Schedules.
If a dentist has received a new list number, the above process will need to be followed. In scenarios such as this, a new provider will need to be created (e.g CB1) with the new list number added and activation date set to before the acceptance date of the original COT.
