Creating a Task
A task can be set to remind yourself or other team members about something that needs to be done. This can be a general practice task or can be made about a particular patient, for example, it could be to check some lab work.
Creating tasks
- Go to administration - tasks - new task.
- Or via the drop-down arrow on the tasks workspace icon.
- Alternatively if you are creating a patient-specific task you will need to open the patient record and then navigate to administration - tasks- new task re patient.
- You will be prompted to select what user(s) you want the task to appear for.
- You can select a group, multiple groups, a user or multiple users.
- Click OK once you have selected all required users or groups.
- The task creation prompt will open for you to create your task.
- Enter all required information such as the name, due date and time, and any task details
- Ticking the remind option will create a reminder in EXACT for the user at the set time.
- Selecting only one user to complete this task will allow for one of the assignees to complete the task for all assignees.

Once you have completed all required fields click create task.
Creating patient-specific tasks
- Open the patient record for whom the task is to be created for.
- Click administration - tasks- new task re patient.
- The task creation prompt will open with the patient's name added.
- Enter all required information such as the name, due date and time, and any task details
- Ticking the remind option will create a reminder in EXACT for the user at the set time.
- Selecting only one user to complete this task will allow for one of the assignees to complete the task for all assignees.

Once you have completed all required fields click create task.
High priority tasks
Urgent or priority tasks can be marked as high priority, which will be highlighted with an identifying icon.
Workspace identifiers
When using the tasks workspace icon the tasks icon will display an incrementational number for the user(s) it has been assigned to.
Tips and Tricks
- To access all the functionality featured in this article, please ensure you are using EXACT V13.893 or above.
- You cannot create tasks for inactive users.
