NHS Scotland codes not showing on NHS forms
Some NHS codes are set to automatically change to a different code once charted.
The full Statement of Dental Remuneration can be found here.
The most common queries we receive regarding this are:
Codes 1402-104
If the codes 1402-104 are not appearing on the NHS form.
Chart the code 1401, this service will change to match the surface/s it has been charted on.
These codes automatically change when you chart 1401, depending on the surfaces of the teeth.
You should always use code 1401, if you have set up separate codes please do not use these.
Code 1420
To chart a 1420, you must chart a 1421 for two separate fillings on the same tooth.
This will automatically change to a 1420 on the GP17.
Codes 1470 and 1471
This code will not appear on any forms or charting.
The codes 1470 and 1471 are connected to the charting of several codes to reduce the maximum fee as per the SDR.
Codes 2861 and 2863
These codes should not be used in conjunction with the other as EXACT will reduce the fee to match the SDR. This most commonly occurs when charting two amendments to a denture on one COT.
Instead chart 2880 (any 2 additions with or without repairs (max)) as this covers both 2861 and 2863.
Codes C002 and C003
If the codes C002-C003 are not appearing on the NHS form.
Chart the code C001, this service will change to match the surface/s it has been charted on.
These codes automatically change when you chart C001, depending on the surfaces of the teeth.
You should always use code C001, if you have set up separate codes please do not use these.
