HICAPS Trinity terminal configuration
Note: If you process CDBS Claims at your practice, please ensure you are on version 13.1010 of EXACT or above. You can check the version number you are on by navigating to: Help > About
The following steps will guide you through the configuration of your HICAPS Trinity Terminal.
Please ensure you have upgraded HICAPS Connect to version 4 before completing the setup.
Configuring your HICAPS Trinity terminal
Please follow the steps outlined below to configure your new HICAPS Trinity Terminal with EXACT.
- Go to Configure - Claiming Parameters.
- Ensure the Process claims through HICAPS checkbox is ticked.
- Click the Configure Terminal button to display the HICAPS Connect Setup window.
- Select your new terminal from the Terminals dropdown list. Your terminal ID is located on your physical terminal.
- Test your terminal connection by selecting the Terminal Test button.
- Click OK to return to the Claiming Parameters window.
- Click the Health Fund Synch button to synchronize the Health Funds list in EXACT with those stored on your new HICAPS terminal.
- Click OK to save your terminal setup.
Please Note: If you get any HICAPS errors when attempting a Health Fund Synch, please ensure that the default terminal is set within HICAPS. You can do this by right-clicking on the HICAPS icon and selecting Configure.
Then choose your terminal ID from the drop down menu. Save your changes and wait a minute for HICAPS to find the terminal again. Once it has, you can preform another terminal test within EXACT.
EFTPOS Payment Setup Steps
If you have previously processed EFTPOS payments through your old HICAPS terminal, your existing setup should remain. If not, please follow the steps outlined below:
- Go to Configure - Claiming Parameters.
- Ensure the Process EFTPOS Payments checkbox is ticked on the Claiming Parameters window.
- Navigate to the Patient Payments window, Configure - Patient Payments.
- Select the EftPos payment method so that it is highlighted.
- Click the e|d button.
- Select the Debit Card option.
- Click OK to save.
