The status of a sent SMS message is displayed through different coloured SMS icons.

SMS Icon Status (key)

• Green phone with a left-pointing arrow, Outgoing SMS has been delivered.
• Green phone with a right-pointing arrow, SMS reply has been received.
• Orange phone, SMS has been sent, but not confirmed as delivered, yet.
  • This could be pending delivery, such as outside of sociable hours (8 pm-8 am).
  • Monthly SMS limit reached.
  • Could be delivered, but no delivery receipt has been received by EXACT.
• Red phone with a left-pointing arrow, SMS delivery has failed.
  • Could be caused by an incorrect mobile number - check and confirm the number.
  • Sending could be rejected by the SMS system (possible reasons include: Invalid phone number, duplicate SMS sent to the same patient within a 24-hour time period, or the practice SMS account is suspended.
• Grey phone, SMS status is unavailable.
• Grey phone with left-pointing arrow, Outgoing SMS has not reached the SMS system.
  • Could be invalid SMS sender details (check your SMS configuration in EXACT).
  • On your practice server computer, check that you can access https://mercury.hsoapollo.app/api/kapow.
• Grey phone with a red circle and cross, SMS status is unknown.
  • Likely caused due to a practice using a third-party SMS provider.
• Grey phone with a red circle and exclamation mark, SMS has failed or has not been sent.
