Online or remote appointments are referred to as teledentistry in EXACT. This functionality allows you to book remote appointments for patients, providing an online appointment link for your patients to attend virtual appointments.

Implementing Teledentistry in EXACT

Once you have chosen your teledentistry appointment software, you can implement this in EXACT.

💡Tip: Choose teledentistry software that offers a waiting room, this allows you to see any patients waiting, but they cannot 'see' each other. The software should provide you with a URL to the waiting room.

Remote Appointments 

1. Go to File - Providers - View Providers.
2. Select the required provider.
3. Select the Appointments tab.
   • Paste the URL in the Teledentistry Link section.
   • Save your changes.

💡Tip: If you have one waiting room for your whole practice, you will need to repeat the above process, pasting the same link for all providers. Alternatively, each provider can have their unique link added to their provider record.

Configuring Smart Sections

Booking links will be added to appointment reminders using smart sections. Read the Using Smart Sections help article for steps on configuring these.

Creating Remote Appointment Bookings

When booking virtual appointments, change the Category to Teledentistry. This will add the smart section to the appointment reminder and send the patient the remote appointment link to attend their virtual appointment.
