Patient Types
Every patient record has the option to add two Types. These can be used however your practice requires.
Unique Patient Identifiers
The Types fields can be used as unique identifiers that are not recorded in default EXACT fields, one popular example is to identify Facial Aesthetics patients from Dental only.
Setting a Patient Type
- Open a patient record.
- Click into either of the two Types boxes.
- Use the up and down arrows to navigate through the options.
- Or click the Selection button to view all options, then double-click one to set this on the patient record.
Creating a New Patient Type
Open a patient record.
- Click into either of the two Types boxes.
- Click the Selection button to open the View Patient Type window.
💡 Tip: The available types displayed are specific to Type 1s and Type 2s. - Click the +1 in the lower right to create a new type.
- Add a Code for your new type; this will be displayed on the patient record.
💡 Tip: The code is limited to four characters. - Enter a Description for your new type.
- Click OK to save this.
- Add a Code for your new type; this will be displayed on the patient record.
Additional Information
💡 Tip: You can report on both types options in Patient Lists using the Type 1 and Type 2 conditions.
