Emailing/Exporting Patient Contact Information
There is no inbuilt functionality to export or email a selection or all of a patient's contact files in bulk; however, this article covers steps to export this information.
How to Export Patient Contact Files
Our recommended steps for exporting patient contact files are listed below. Once completed, you can attach the exported patient contact files to an email to the patient using the AttachΒ button on the final part of Printing/Emailing Patient Details.
π‘Tip: Create a folder on your computer to save the exported files in.
- Open the patient record, then select the Contacts tab.
- Open each file to be exported, the program that the file opens with will depend on Windows and which program is selected to open each type of file (i.e. different types of Image files or documents).
- Locate the option to save the file (depending on the software used to open the file this could be in different places for each file), select where you want to save it, name appropriately and click "Save".
- This example shows the user opening a Patient Portal contact consent form which is an HTML file, the location folder Joe Bloggs is selected and the file is renamed as Contact Consent and then saved into the new folder.
- Example; saving a patients Terms and Conditions document via Adobe Reader (PDF File)
- For patient contacts like SMS & Emails, these cannot be exported from EXACT in the same way. If patient communications like these are required, we advise either using Windows Snipping Tool to capture the patient's contacts screen, which will show the dates of the communications or alternatively, if you need the content of the communications, copy and paste each message onto a Word document or Snipping tool individually.
