When you TC a claim in EXACT, it will be picked up and sent to the board on your next transmission. If you want to stop a claim from being sent you can use the hold function under the NHS payor. You must remember to unhold the claim when you are ready to send it otherwise it will never be transmitted to the board.

Holding a claim

1. Click File - Payors.
2. Select the NHS payor.
3. Click on the £ symbol on the toolbar.
   
4. The View Payor Transactions window will open, highlight the course of treatment (COT) you wish to hold then click the Hold/Release button.
   A hand symbol will appear next to the transaction symbol.
   
5. This item will not be added to any new claim bundles, and will therefore not be passed on to the NHS Dental Services.

Releasing a held claim

1. As per the instructions for holding a claim, however, when you click the Hold/Release button, the hand symbol will change to TC.
2. The item will now be added to the next created claim bundles.
