NHS Services and Banding Mismatches
To assist in the prevention of NHS claims being rejected due to a mismatch of banding and/or dataset categories your system performs service validation on your charting.
This has been implemented to coincide with validation changes introduced by the NHS.
Service and band mismatch prompt
If a mismatch is detected, a prompt will be displayed containing information regarding the affected services.
The warning will appear in the following scenarios:
- If a replacement is ticked for a service without a band 2 or 3 data set assigned.
- If a COT has a total band of 1, 2 or 3, but none of the services in the COT have been assigned a category to match.
- If any service in the COT has been assigned a data set category higher than the total band of the COT.
To correct these mismatches, you will need to confirm the correct clinical dataset is assigned to your services.
Tips and Tricks
- Contact your local NHS team to discuss the relevant dataset for each service.
- Edit a service to check or change the assigned NHS dataset then re-chart the service to ensure the charted service has the updated dataset assignment.
