When changes are made to NHS dentistry fees, and banding your EXACT system requires these to be updated.

Updating Your NHS Fees

NHS fee updates are implemented automatically for your practice on the date the fee update is applicable, e.g. 1st April.

If a fee update has not been applied or you have been instructed to do so by a member of the EXACT support team, please follow the instructions outlined at the bottom of this article.

Manually Updating NHS Fees or Banding

⚠️ Note: Only perform a manual update of your NHS fees or banding, if you have been instructed to do so by the EXACT support team.

💡Tip: English, Welsh, and Isle of Man fee imports only need to be actioned once per practice, and can be performed from any computer.

1. Log into EXACT with an administrator or superuser password.
   • The Principle Dentist or Practice Manager should have access to this.
     
2. Click on File - Payors.
   • Select your NHS payor using the selection button or up/down arrows.
   • Click on Band Setup.
   • Click on the New Date button (top right of screen).
   • Enter the required date then click OK.
   • Highlight Band 1 and click on the e|d button located bottom right. Enter the patient fee for band 1 treatment. Click OK.
   • Repeat this for the required bands used by your country.
     England requires Band 1, Band 2(a), Band 2(b), Band 2(c) Band 3, EXAM, Ortho assessment, Ortho 18 and over and Urgent to be changed.
   • When all these have been edited click on OK.
     
3.  Your Patient charges have now been updated and will take effect from the date you have just entered.

Unauthorised Access Warning

An Unauthorised Access prompt may appear if the Windows security permissions are set incorrectly. In the majority of situations, clicking OK will close the warning message and the fee download will be successful. Please double-check your fees have updated after clicking OK on this warning message.
