Changing a VT or DFT to a Provider
When a clinician completes their Dental Vocational Training (VT) or Dental Foundation Training (DFT), it is necessary to alter their provider record in EXACT for them to claim for NHS treatment.
Updating a VT or DFT to a Provider
To continue as a Dentist within your practice, a junior provider's account will need to be amended to enable full NHS claiming capabilities. In EXACT, this is achieved by creating a new provider profile, something that was simplified in 2024 through new functionality.
Creating a New Provider Profile for Junior Dentists
⚠️Note: This process requires all users to be logged out of EXACT. Please ensure this is the case before continuing with these instructions.
💡Tip: This same functionality can be used to Change a Provider's Username for situations other than qualifying as a Dentist.
- Go to File - Providers - View Providers.
- Select the required provider at the top of the window.
- Click the Change Username option.
⚠️Note: Depending on your region, your system may display images differently within this article.
- Read and confirm you are happy with all the provided information before proceeding with this change.
- Complete the fields as required, including the new username and name (if this is changing).
- Add any regional-specific information, such as NHS details.
- Click OK to proceed.
Additional Information
💡Tip: The original provider username will be made inactive but will still exist, this is for historical treatment that contains the original username.
⚠️Note: From EXACT V24.106: Personal/performer numbers and prior approval tier limits are copied to the new username.
⚠️Note: From EXACT V24.109: If the original username was assigned to a room, the new username will be assigned to the room.
