Configuring Service Categories
Organise your services into service categories to help you manage your services and reduce the time it takes for your team to locate the services they use.
Creating Service Categories
Create service categories that work for your practice such as adding all of your Hygiene services into a Hygiene category or individual categories for each dentist to reduce the time it takes to locate a service and simplify treatment charting.
- Open a patient file, then select the Chart tab.
- Select the Service List.
- Click the spanner button at the bottom of the Service List.
- Click Select which categories you see in the service list and the order they are shown and Create new service categories or edit existing ones... then select Next.
- You will be presented with the Select the Categories and order to display window.
- Click +1 at the bottom of the Available Categories list.
- Enter a Description for your new category, clicking Next once complete.
- You will be presented with the Select the services required in each category window.
- Using the Category option at the top of this window, select your new category.
- You can now tick the checkbox for any services you wish to be displayed in this category.
- You can Sort by payor code if using payor codes.
- Click Finish once you're complete.
Tips and Tricks
-
- When changing a category name using the Chart tab, existing services may not be moved to the new category. If you wish to change the name of a category, please go to Configure - Services.
- Ticking the boxes for Base and T.Plan (Treatment Plan) will indicate if this service category and its services are available for base charting, regular treatment or both.
