Configuring Adjustment Types
Patient transactions often need to be adjusted for various reasons. You can configure the different types of adjustments from the Practice Settings area in EXACT, this can be accessed by going to Configure - Practice Settings.
To access the adjustment Types configuration, click on View Adjustment Types button.
You will be presented with a list displaying all adjustment types, by default, only active types will be shown. If you wish to view inactive types, click Show Inactive.
Adding a new adjustment type
- Adjustment types can be added by clicking on the +1 button in the bottom right or you can edit an existing by highlight the adjustment and clicking on the e|d button.
- From this window you can enter a description for the adjustment and choose what the adjustment will do.
A breakdown of each option:
Receipt Correction - The adjustment will only be an option when you have highlighted a receipt and will be allocated to that receipt.
Invoice Correction - The adjustment will only be an option once you have highlighted an invoice and will be allocated to that Invoice.
Debit Notes - This Will be a Debit adjustment that will not be automatically allocated to a transaction.
Credit Notes - This Will be a Credit adjustment that will not be automatically allocated to a transaction.
- Then choose whether a positive entry will increase or decrease the amount. This will help users when taking making the adjustment to allow the balance to go up or down as desired.
- You can choose at any time to make an adjustment type inactive, by clicking on the Inactive button.
- Once that adjustment is configured, add more adjustments or edit each existing until you are happy with your Adjustment Types list.
