Editing Security Groups
The access a User has in EXACT is restricted by the security group they belong to.
Changing the access for a security group will change the access for everyone assigned to that particular Security Group.
Editing the Access for a Security Group
- Configure - Security Search.
- You can search for a Security Item by typing in the search box or scrolling through the list.
- When a Security Item is selected, a tick will be displayed alongside any security groups with access to this setting.
- Tick or untick any groups who you do not wish to have access to this area of EXACT.
Tips and Tricks
- The parent option must be ticked to allow access to the child options. For example, if the File is not ticked, there will be no access to patients, education etc.
- If you wish to grant selected staff access to extra areas of EXACT, leaving other staff with the same access as they currently have, for example, a head receptionist may require extra access than a general receptionist. We recommend creating a new security group by copying the existing group and then editing the new group security. Remember to change the user's security groups so they gain the new levels of access the new group has created.
- The Administrator setting in User Settings will override any Security Group settings, providing maximum access to EXACT.
