Troubleshooting Google Tag Manager Integration with Online Booking
If your Google Tag Manager (GTM) has not detected data flowing from your Online Booking system, your GTM integration will fail to display information.
Verifying Google Tag Manager Integration
You can check that the GTM Container ID has been synchronised from EXACT by inspecting the source code of the online booking webpage.
Source Code Inspection
To verify the GTM Container ID integration:
- Navigate to the online booking webpage
- Right-click and select "View Source" (or press Ctrl+U)
- Look for the GTM Container ID in the highlighted area around line 15
- Verify that the Container ID matches your GTM account
⚠️Note: If the GTM Container ID is different from your expected ID, the setting in EXACT may still be in the process of being synchronised. A default GTM Container ID is provided by Henry Schein One until it is overridden by the setting in EXACT.
Common Issues
- Synchronisation Delay: Allow up to 15 minutes for changes in EXACT to synchronise with your online booking system.
- Browser Cache: Clear your browser cache and reload the booking page after making configuration changes.
- GTM Preview Mode: Use GTM's Preview mode to test event firing before publishing changes.
