Online Booking is showing the wrong Google Maps location for my practice
The location is determined by the address in Configure - Practice Information in EXACT and what Google result that address search returns. Therefore it's Googles search that is in control of the result but there are a few things to try to get the search working to locate your practice.
If your Online Booking page is showing a map of the world or the wrong location for your practice, follow the steps below to rectify this.
Note: If the map is showing the world, the address is not recognised by Google Maps. |
- Check if the address is correct in practice information and correct it if it is wrong.
- This can be found in the menu Configure - Practice Information.
- Confirm the details are correct and update if incorrect.
- Once corrected, it can take up to 2 hours to update online.
If/once the address is correct and but it is still showing the wrong map:
- Check if the address is recognised on https://www.google.com/maps.
- If your address is correct however it cannot be found, you can contact Google to have your address added to Google Maps, instructions on completing this can be found here https://support.google.com/maps/answer/6320846?hl=en
or - If the address held by Google is incorrect, you can request Google correct it, instructions on completing this can be found here https://support.google.com/maps/answer/7084895?hl=en.
- If your address is correct however it cannot be found, you can contact Google to have your address added to Google Maps, instructions on completing this can be found here https://support.google.com/maps/answer/6320846?hl=en
- Test with Google searches for your practice and see which address searches are the most successful then try replicating these within the practice information screen in EXACT. i.e, even commas, changing “road” to “rd” etc can make a difference.
Please Note: It can take a few hours before these changes will update on the webpage. If you would like the changes to take effect faster, contact the Support team. They can then restart your EXACT Transport service on the server computer to make the changes update within a few minutes. |
