EXACT is a server-based system, which means that your dental practice has a main server computer with EXACT installed on it. To get the latest features and developments, your system needs to be regularly updated.

Scheduled updates
It is recommended to configure your update schedule outside of your practice operating hours to minimise downtime; the most common times are between 11 pm and 3 am.
On your chosen day, your server and workstations should be left turned on, although we advise switching off the screens/monitors to reduce power consumption.
💡 Tip: Scheduling your updates at different times from any other scheduled process will help to reduce any complications, these are cloud backups and anti-virus scans. Your IT support should be able to advise on any scheduled processes.
Checking your Update schedule
You can check if you already have EXACT automatic updates scheduled in your system.
- Go to Help - About.
- Details about your EXACT system will be displayed on screen.
- The Update Schedule row will display when your system checks for updates.
