Dental Referrals is a referral system provided by Dental Referrals. This system can be connected to EXACT, allowing patient information to be uploaded directly to the Dental Referrals system.

Dental Referrals

⚠️Important: You must contact Dental Referrals for your Dental Referrals licence; without this, you cannot connect Dental Referrals to your system.

Installing the Dental Referrals Button (Part One)

⚠️Requirements: EXACT 12.7 or above installed.

1. Log in to EXACT on any computer with EXACT admin privileges.
2. Go to Configure - Practice Settings - Product Licences.
   • Select +1 to add a new licence.
   • Under Product Name enter Dental Referrals.
   • Under the Key enter the following licence key (same for all customers): c6e33d4a-f358-4b89-a666-ba96f5067407
   • Leave the Access Code blank.
   • For Path enter C:\DReferrals.
   • Then click Copy To All Computers.
   • Click OK.
     
     
3. Restart EXACT, waiting for a few minutes for it to register the new licence) before logging back in to test (This prompt does not auto-update without restarting EXACT).
4. Once the licence is enabled, restart EXACT.
   • Open a patient record to check that the Dental Referrals option is now available along the top of the patient record.
     💡Tip: The icon will only be displayed if a patient is selected.
     

Clicking this option will open the default web browser as configured in Windows.

Once the referral form is selected, the form will be displayed with the supported patient fields pre-populated.

💡Tip: Patients with a space in their name, such as a double-barrelled name, will fail to copy into Dental Referrals. You can resolve this by adding a hyphen "-" to join the names.

Installing the Dental Referrals Button (Part Two)

1. Download the file attached to this article titled 'drlink-install-32bit'.
   • Located at the bottom of this article.
2. Extract this file to your computer.
   
   • This installation process will need to be repeated on every workstation the button will be used.
3. Once extracted, run the 32-bit installer.
4. You will likely see a UAC prompt.
   • Select Yes on this prompt.
   • To continue, agree to the licence agreement.
     
5.  Leave the path as it is, clicking install.
   
6. At the end of the install process a windows popup will be displayed prompting for your Dental Referrals Practice Authorisation token. This is the API key/authorisation token issued by Dental Referrals to the practice.
   
   • Enter your code (or copy and paste, use the right mouse click to paste) after the prompt and hit enter/return.
7. If the wrong code is entered or this code needs to be changed then repeat the Part 2 install and re-enter the key.
8. Complete the installation by selecting close, log out and back into EXACT before the button will appear.
