Email Configuration - btconnect.com

Important information regarding btconnect.com

btconnect.com have changed how to access a btconnect.com email account.

Key information:

  • btconnect.com now utilises Modern Authentication and will not allow connection via Basic Authentication
  • You cannot access a btconnect.com email account within an external email client. 

EXACT functions as an external email client, therefore we can no longer support btconnect.com email accounts. You can read the full announcement here, The security of btconnect.com email.

In order to continue sending and receiving email in EXACT, you will need to change your email provider.

For alternative options and configuring these in EXACT, please read, configuring your email account in EXACT.

Email security and encryption

Outgoing emails are transmitted using your mail servers encryption settings.
Please check with your email provider as to the level of security they offer.

Please note: This is entirely dependant on the level of encryption offered by the recipients email server. For example, regardless of the level of security of your email account, if you are sending an email to a non-secure email account the level of security will be minimal.
