Your computer can be configured to launch multiple instances of EXACT on one workstation, allowing you to copy data across or if you have multiple users working from one monitor.

Enabling EXACT to allow multi-login

1. Right-click your EXACT icon on your desktop.
2. Select Create Shortcut from the options.
3. Select and right-click the new icon.
4. Select Rename, then enter EXACT_Multi (or something to highlight this is for multiple instances).
5. Once renamed, right-click the icon again, and select Properties from the menu.
6. Locate the field Target.
7. Scroll to the end and locate the end quotation mark, highlight everything after this, then paste the following:
   • /AllowLogin /MULTIPLEAPP
     💡Tip: Alternative target paths can be found further down this article.
     ⚠️Note: Please take note of the space after the last quotation mark
     
8. Click OK to Save.
9. Double-click EXACT_Multi to open EXACT, you can double-click this multiple times to open a new instance of EXACT.

⚠️Note: This Shortcut should be remain after an EXACT upgrade, as the Dental.exe file it points to, is always replaced with a newer version.

Example Target Paths

The example target paths can be copied and pasted into the Target field, select the correct path, depending on your computer and version of EXACT.

• 32 Bit Workstation:
  "C:\Program Files\Software of Excellence\EXACT\dental.exe"  /multipleapp /allowlogin
• 32 Bit Server (if using V13.12 or above):
  "C:\Program Files (x86)\Software of Excellence\EXACT Server\dental.exe"  /multipleapp /allowlogin
• 64 Bit Workstation:
  "C:\Program Files (x86)\Software of Excellence\EXACT\dental.exe"  /multipleapp /allowlogin
• 64 Bit Server (if using V13.12 or above):
  "C:\Program Files (x86)\Software of Excellence\EXACT Server\dental.exe"  /multipleapp /allowlogin
