Troubleshooting Education slides or movies
If you are experiencing issues with your Education Slides or Movies, there are some steps you can perform.
Education Slides
- On the server computer, locate the EXACT resources folder on the server, "\\server\EXACTData\bitmaps" (replacing server with your server name).
- Copy the bitmaps to "C:\Program Files (x86)\Software of Excellence\EXACT Server\bitmaps" onto the workstation.
- Extract the bitmap files.
- A copy of the bitmaps folder needs to be placed in the Data folder for Presentation Manager.
- Check the databases.ini is correct.
- Restart the EXACT server (all the services and database).
- Test the issue has been resolved.
Education Movies
If your Education Movies are not playing, most commonly with the error 'The ASyncMovieReader Filter could not be created'.
- Confirm EXPLAIN-3D (UK/Ireland) or EXPLAIN-PRO (Australia/New Zealand) is registered on the computer (this is usually only registered on specific machines, rather than all) Configure - Practice Information - Register.
- Ensure the movies folder is present in "C:\Program Files (x86)\Software of Excellence\EXACT".
(An EXACT Support team must perform this step) if this is not present, you can transfer this from "X:\Support\Movies", copying the contents to the EXACT folder. - Ensure that ASyncMovieReader is present "C:\Program Files (x86)\Software of Excellence\EXACT".
- Run Command Prompt (CMD) as an administrator.
- Enter the following: "cd c:\program files (x86)\software of excellence\exact" then press enter.
- Type "regsvr32 asyncmoviereader.ax" then press enter.
- A message should then appear to say this has succeeded.
- Close EXACT then log in again.
- Test the issue has been resolved.
