Appointment book, cancels tab
When an appointment is marked as cancelled, it is removed from the View Day area and stored in the Cancels Tab, giving you access to view all cancelled appointments.

Tip: It is advisable to periodically review the patients in the Cancels tab to determine if they have re-booked an appointment and clear the list of old appointments as you see fit. |
Rebooking an appointment from the Cancels tab
Cancelled appointments can be rebooked directly from the Cancels tab.
- Highlight the appointment in the Cancels tab.
- Drag the appointment to a suitable date and time on the View Day area.
- or Drag the appointment to the Clipboard.
Cancelled appointment statuses
- Red, the appointment has been cancelled (default colour).
- Various colours, different cancellation reasons can be created per practice using alternate colours, please view the settings in your EXACT.
- Green, the appointment has been rebooked.
- Black, do not rebook the appointment.
This is listed in the Patient Recalls Tab and in This Patient's Appointments list in the Edit Appointment window.

You can change the appointment status list by selecting a status from the Appt Status drop-down list.
Removing cancelled appointments
Once an appointment has been cancelled and moved to the Cancels tab it will remain there until manual action is taken, this can be rebooking as per the steps above or removed from the Cancels tab entirely.
To remove an appointment you are confirming the appointment does not need to be rebooked, it will still be recorded in the patient record that the appointment was cancelled.
Tip: You can only remove Cancelled appointments, not Failed or Deleted. |
You can remove individual appointments or cancelled appointments within a date range.
Removing an individual appointment
- Highlight the appointment/patient in the Cancels tab.
- Click No Rebook.
- Ensure Remove the selected appointment only is selected.
- Click OK.
Removing an range of appointments (by date)
- Select any appointment/patient in the Cancels tab.
- Click No Rebook.
- Select Remove a range of cancelled appointments.
- Select a date range using From Date and To Date, using the options in the drop-down menu or click the calendar button to choose a specific date.
- Click OK.
When an appointment has been marked as do not rebook, this will be displayed in their patient appointment list as a black circle with a black line through it.
