How To Import & Export Images/X-rays Within EXAMINE Pro
Importing Images:
EXAMINE Pro is able to import most image file types, including DICOM images. With Examine Pro there are two ways to import images depending on how many you want to import (Import Picture & Import Picture Directory), these are as follows:
Import Picture – Used when trying to import one image at a time
Import Image Directory – Used when trying to import multiple images at a time
Below is an explanation of how to use each one:
Import Picture:
- Make sure the images that you would like to import are stored in an easily accessible location on your PC
- Find the patient who requires the images and load their chart tab from within Exact
- Go into Examine Pro via the Images Tab
- Select File from the top menu bar
- Select Import Picture from the submenu – The Import Picture window will open
- On the left-hand side of the Import Picture window navigate to the folder location of the stored images
- Within the centre pane locate the image file and double-click the image – a preview of the image will appear on the right-hand side
- If the image is correct click the Import button
- The image will now be imported within the image library of the patient’s Examine Pro folder
Import Picture Directory
- Make sure the images that you would like to import are stored in an easily accessible location on your PC
- Find the patient who requires the images and load their chart tab from within Exact
- Go into Examine Pro via the Images Tab
- Select File from the top menu bar
- Select Import Picture Directory from the submenu – Examine Pro will now enter the Import Picture Directory Screen
- In the top-left hand corner of the screen use the navigation window to locate the folder which contains the image files – If the images are stored on a different drive, use the drop-down box to change the drives
- To the right of the navigation window you will now see a list of files and on the far right size previews of all the image files within the folder
- Locate the OK? Column in the middle window showing the file names and click in each box to select which image files to import
- If all image files are required click Select All Files
- Once the right files have been selected, click Import and Exit
- Images will now be imported into Examine Pro and show in the patient’s thumbnail library
Exporting Images:
Examine Pro is able to Export most image file types, including DICOM images. With Examine Pro there are two ways to Export images depending on how many you want to import (Export Picture & Export Picture Directory), these are as follows:
Export Picture – Used when trying to export one image at a time
Export Image Directory – Used when trying to export multiple images at a time
Below is an explanation of how to use each one:
Export Picture:
- Double-click the image you want to export from the image library to load it into a viewport
- Select File from the top menu bar
- Select Export Picture from the submenu – Examine Pro will now enter the Export Picture Screen
- Select from the “Save as type:” drop-down box what file format you would like to export to
- On the left-hand side, select the location you would like to export to
- When you are happy with the settings, click “Save”
- The image will now be exported to the file location that was selected
Export Picture Directory:
- Select File from the top menu bar
- Select Export Picture Directory from the submenu – Examine Pro will now enter the Export Picture Directory Screen
- In the top-left corner of the screen left-click on a thumbnail image to highlight an image you want to export
- Click “Add”
- Repeat this for as many images as you would like to export
- If you want to export all images, select “Add all”
- Towards the bottom of the screen change the “Destination Folder” to the location you would like to export the images to
- On the right-hand side select the file format that you would like to export the images as
- Once you are happy with the settings click “Export”
