How To Create Macros In Examine Pro
It is not unusual for a practice to have multiple imaging devices they wish to use in Examine Pro simultaneously, in this case the we can setup multiple acquisition buttons using macros, so they can have a separate button for each device.
Start by going to Options → Macros
You will then have the Macros menu, to create a new macro click the Add button circled below.
Start by giving the macro a name, generally best to just use the device/brand you are creating the macro for.
Then ensure you tick “Create Button” so that a new button is created, by pressing “Select Image” you can select image that will be displayed on the button, you can choose many different manufacturers, in this instance we can use the Duerr logo as we’re setting up a Vistascan. Be aware that in V6 of Examine Pro there are no manufacturer logos by default but you can add these using the files located in “N:\software\Support\Digital Imaging Team\Miscellaneous Software\Macros”
Once you have selected the image you wish to use you can save your macro by clicking “Save”.
Now for our macro have any functionality we must record the steps we wish the macro to carry out, to do this press the record button ensuring the macro you wish to record to is highlighted.
You will see an info box pop up to tell you to press “CTRL + F12” to stop recording, click OK to this.
Now that you are recording select the module you wish the macro to load by going to Options → X-ray Acquisition, in this case we will use the Vistascan module.
Once you have select the correct module press the acquisition button, once the acquisition screen loads press “CTRL + F12” to end the recording.
The macro has now been recorded successfully.
You may then need to set the acquisition button back to the device it was originally set to.
You can repeat this process to create as many macros as required for each device the user requires.
