Importing Images and X-rays in Examine Pro
When you have an image or an X-ray not taken within Examine Pro, you will need to import it into Examine Pro.
Importing Images
⚠️Please Note: PDF documents are not images; therefore can not be imported in Examine Pro. However, these can be imported into the patient contact tab.
Most image file types can be imported into Examine Pro, including DICOM images.
There are two ways to import images,
- Import Picture, for importing one image at a time.
- Import Image Directory, for importing multiple images at a time.
Import Picture
- Ensure the images you want to import are stored in an easily accessible location on your PC.
- Find the patient who requires the images and load their chart tab from within EXACT.
- Open Examine Pro from the Images tab.
- Select File from the top menu bar.
- Select Import Picture from the submenu, and the Import Picture window will open.
- On the left of the Import Picture window, navigate to the folder location of the stored images.
- In the centre pane, locate the image file and double-click the image; a preview of the image will appear on the right-hand side.
- If the image is correct, click the Import button.
- The image will now be imported into the image library of the patient’s Examine Pro folder.

- Locate the OK? column in the middle window displaying the file names, and click in each box to select which image files to import.
- If all image files are required, click Select All Files.
- Once the right files have been selected, click Import and Exit.
- Images will now be imported into Examine Pro and will show in the patient’s thumbnail library.
