Booking Appointments In Rooms
Booking appointments in rooms differs from just booking with a provider.
ℹ️ Information: Rooms are an alternative way to manage your appointment book, as opposed to using provider columns, with each room representing a surgery in your dental practice.
⚠️Note: Rooms must be configured for the required appointment book to access configuration options in this help article.
🔗 Configuring Appointment Book Rooms
Appointment Booking with Rooms
You have multiple options and features to assist you in booking appointments, these include:
- Double-clicking the specific day and column.
- Dragging the mouse to the specific place in the appointment book in a known gap.
- Or right-clicking then selecting the option to create an appointment.
💡Tip: Creating an appointment from the room column on the appointment book will auto-fill the room option with the selected room column. For example, double-clicking in Surgery 1 (room) will add Surgery 1 to the room field.
⚠️Note: Creating an appointment from a provider column will not auto-fill the provider details. The patient's assigned dentist will auto-fill this field, even if they are not assigned to the room.
Booking an Appointment with a Provider not Assigned to a Room
Providers should be configured to operate in a room for a booking to be made with both the provider and the room. If a provider will be permanently working in a room, they should be added to the room within your practice configuration.
⚠️Note: An error prompt will be displayed on screen when selecting a provider that is not configured for a room. You can continue with the booking, without amending the provider and room configuration, and the appointment will be saved.
