Failed SMS Communications
When an error occurs with your practice server, internet connection or EXACT, your SMS may be placed into a failed state, where they will remain in your outbox until manual intervention to reset or delete the communication.
💡 Tip: Failed communications will display a white and red cross icon in the first column in your outbox.
Resetting and Sending Failed SMS
💡 Tip: Double-click an SMS to open and view the content, check for dates and delete any communications that are outdated or irrelevant. Sending SMS for past appointments can cause confusion and more work for receptionists as they manage queries about these old communications!
⚠️ Please Note: This feature manages both your SMS and email communications, so check all failed communications, not just your email.
- Go to File - Email.
- Select the Outbox tab.
- Highlight any SMS to be resent.
- Select specific emails by pressing and holding the Control (CTRL) button on your keyboard and clicking on any SMS you wish to reset.
- Or press and hold the Shift (SHIFT) button on your keyboard and click on the first and last email to select a wider range of emails.
- Or use the Select All option to highlight all communications in your outbox.
- Once highlighted, click the Reset Failed Messages button at the bottom of EXACT.
- The white and red cross icon will be removed to indicate the reset has been successful.
- Click the Send/Receive Email button at the top of your email functionality to initiate the sending process.
- Your email server will now attempt to send the SMS communications as per your standard email configuration.
- If your communications continue to fail, please use Live Chat to connect with our support team for further assistance.
