FAQ
Q: Is it OK to delete the network backup to free up space?
A: Please check with the practice or the practice's IT Support. If they confirm acceptance, this data can be deleted. It is worth checking if the practice has access to another backup elsewhere before deleting, in case this is the only backup.
Creating Disk Space
It is recommended to have a full network backup taken on one workstation; however, it is possible to omit the sub-directories of the data folder to create smaller backups.
To do this.
- Log in to EXACT as a SUPER or Admin user.
- Select Configure - Computer Settings.
- Untick the option for Backup sub-directories.
- Save the changes.
The next time you run an EXACT network backup, only the data files will be copied during the backup, with all sub-directories ignored, for example, the log files, photos, XMIT, etc.
⚠️Note: Sub-directories do contain important information. Please contact your IT support to discuss hard drive expansion options or to delete unnecessary files to create disk space.
