Troubleshooting the error prompt: No Database Specified in the Login.ini when performing a network backup.
Backup Error: No Database Specified in the Login.ini Network
- On the computer that is experiencing the error:
- Open File Explorer (you can type this in your Windows Search).
- Go to C:\ProgramData\SOEI\EXACT.
💡Tip: The ProgramData folder is a hidden folder in Windows, on Windows 11, at the top of File Explorer, click View then Show, then select Hidden Items. The ProgramData file will now be visible. -
Right-click the login.ini file, select Open With - Notepad.

Check that CurrentDatabase=Practice is present in the file.
⚠️Note: Practice is the default name, this may be the name of your practice data. - If this is not present, add this information.
- Save the file and attempt to log into the backup file.
