Booking family appointments
Important: Prior to using this function ensure you have entered information into the Adding/Removing Family Members section of the Patient Details tab.
Tip: When booking family appointments you can select the members of the family that you would like to book into the appointment. |

Booking a family appointment
You can open the create family appointment when creating an appointment, this can be accessed from double-clicking the appointment book or via the +1 in the Hold List section of the appointment book.
- When you have the Edit Appointment window open.
- Click the Create Family Appointment button.
- Locate the first member for the appointment through the patient search field.
- All family members will be automatically added to the appointment.
- You can remove any patients from the appointment booking by using >> button.
- Enter all the appropriate appointment information such as Service, Category, Room, Provider, Time, Total Length, and optionally type Notes about the appointment.
- Click the Save button.
- The appointment will now be added to the appointment book or to the Hold List if created from this window.
If you added the appointment to the Hold List, drag the appointment to an available opening.
Checking patients in for a family appointment
When the family arrives for the appointment,
- Depending if all patients have arrived you can mark patients as arrived in two ways,
- Clicking the box on the appointment will arrive all patients, as will right-clicking then selecting Mark as Arrived or
- Arrive patients individually via the Arrivals tab, useful if not all patients will be attending. This will add the correct number of stick-people at the door in surgery.
- If you are using the Appointment Workflow, when you click the Family appointment as Arrived, the appointment workflow Arrival Window will show family members individually, allowing you to deal with outstanding issues (such as Medical History Update) per patient.
Completing a family appointment
If you are using the Appointment Workflow, when the family appointment is completed, the Departure List will show each family member, allowing you to deal with individual outstanding issues, such as collecting mobile numbers per patient.
Booking further family appointments

Cancelling individual family members from an appointment
When marking individual patients as not arrived for a family appointment, they will not appear in the Cancels tab, you will need to take note of them separately.
