Sometimes it may be necessary to update EXACT to gain access to new features and bug fixes, such as support for NHS updates in time for April 1st. 

Step 1 - Download EXACT installer on the server computer

• Download the EXACT installer here
• You must only run the installer on the EXACT server machine. Never run it on a workstation.

Step 2 - Save your work and log out of EXACT throughout the practice

• Ensure all computers across the practice are logged out of EXACT, but do not turn off any computers.
• Depending on when you last updated EXACT, the process may take up to an hour. We recommend running manual updates when no one is using the system, such as at the end of the day or during a lunch break.

Step 3 - Run the EXACT installer

• Run the installer on the server as an administrator, follow the prompts and wait for it to complete. (If you are asked for administrator credentials - i.e. a Username and Password, please contact your IT support for assistance).
• Ensure the server computer has at least 8GB of storage space to complete the update.
